Join the Elections Volunteer Outreach Team

We are looking for dynamic, vibrant, tech-savvy and customer service-oriented people who are 16 years of age or older to volunteer as part of our Election Outreach Team leading up to the municipal election. 

As a member of our team, you will represent Elections Markham at virtual and in-person events across Markham to promote the election, civic engagement, register voters and more!

Join us and get involved as a Volunteer Team Leader in the 2022 Markham Municipal Election!

We are looking for dynamic, vibrant, leadership focused, tech-savvy and customer service-oriented people who are 21 years of age or older to lead a team of volunteers, as part of our Elections Outreach Team leading up to the municipal election.

As a Volunteer Team Leader, you will represent Elections Markham and manage a team of volunteers at virtual and in-person events across Markham to promote voter registration, civic engagement and more!

There are also opportunities to get involved during Voting Days from October 14 to 24, 2022.

Key Opportunities:

  • Manage, coordinate and provide guidance to volunteers at events
  • Liaise with event personnel at community events as a representative of Elections Markham
  • Help voters register to vote
  • Do educational presentations
  • Engage community organizations that serve traditionally underserved and underrepresented groups 
  • Show voters how to vote online using a demo ballot
  • Set up and take down booth at events
  • Answer frequently asked questions
  • Other duties, as needed

The City of Markham has established a mandatory vaccination requirement for staff related to the COVID-19 pandemic.  As a result, should you be a successful candidate for a position with Elections Markham, you will be required to provide proof of full vaccination.
