Voting During COVID-19

As COVID-19 evolves, we will continue to keep voting safe, easy and accessible for all voters. Elections Markham will monitor and follow advice from public health officials at the federal, provincial and regional levels.

What we're doing to keep voters safe:

• Voting Places will be mask-friendly spaces
• Hand sanitizer will be available 
• High-touch surfaces will be disinfected frequently 
• On Final Voting Day, voting touchscreens will be disinfected after each vote at Voting Places
• Physical distancing will be in effect
• Directional and safety signage will be posted
• Plexiglass barriers will be in place between election officials and voters

Important

If you're experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or are isolating, you will not be allowed to enter a Voting Place. You are encouraged to vote online from the comfort and safety of your home to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
